Panama City Beach- School's out for summer in Bay County, but the controversy continued Monday night over this year's FCAT results.

Around forty parents met directly with school district officials at Arnold High School to talk about the test.

"I've received a lot of emails and calls about the stress it's causing our students," said Bay County School Board Member Steve Moss.

And like last week's FCAT forum, the resounding consensus Monday wasn't a good one.

"I think it's one of the stupidest things I've ever heard of," said concerned parent William Miller.

Carol Swift's tenth grade son goes to Mosley High School. She fought back the tears as she described her son's reaction to failing the reading portion of the exam.

"He was really upset about it and he knew he didn't do well right after he took it. He was talking college and now he's talking, 'No I don't think I want to go to college. I want to just work.' That has changed a lot," said Swift.

School Superintendent Bill Husfelt joined in the parents' frustration, but he said to have any chance at change, school officials need parents' help.

"The professionals have been yelling and screaming for so long at them that they're not listening to them," said Husfelt.

Bay District School officials have received students' individual breakdowns of FCAT scores. Parents should be able to pick them up sometime next week.
