Motorcycle Strikes Four-Year-Old Pedestrian on 30A

WALTON COUNTY-- UPDATE: August 24 5:15 p.m.

A four-year-old boy is in critical condition after an accident involving a motorcycle around 10 p.m. Saturday night in Walton County.

Florida Highway Patrol officials say the child, from Millington, Tennessee, was walking across the westbound lane of County Road 30A near Patina Boulevard when he was struck by a motorcycle.

28-year-old Corey Parker, from Santa Rosa Beach was traveling west when he struck the child.

A witness told NewsChannel 7 that the child was in the crosswalk at the time of the accident. The witness says adults with the child tried to wave down the driver to slow down and get everyone out of the way.

The four-year-old was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.

Parker was not injured.


The Walton County Sheriff's Office responded to several calls Saturday night regarding an accident involving a motorcycle and a four-year-old child.

Sheriff's officials say the accident occurred near 8834 Co. Hwy 30A.

Sheriff's deputies and South Walton Fire Department officials are currently on the scene setting up a landing zone for a helicopter at this time.

Florida Highway Patrol is on route from Crestview and will conduct an investigation.
