Families of Sidney and Alexis Say They're Improving

The families of Sidney Good and Alexis Fairchild just released another statement on their daughters' health.

They say the girls are improving slowly, but surely, each day.

Here's what they told NewsChannel 7 in an email Friday:

"Our daughters, Alexis Fairchild and Sidney Good, are still showing positive signs of recovery from their parasailing accident July 1 on Panama City Beach. Alexis is stable and able to talk with visitors and is working with therapy to slowly begin walking further and more frequently. While she is still in pain from her injuries, each day she is improving.

Sidney is also showing improvement and seems more alert today. She is still on a ventilator so she is not able to talk, but has actually used some sign language to communicate with her mother, even asking for a scratch on her cheek. Sidney is still critical and is expected to have surgery to stabilize her neck early next week. As with Alexis, Sidney has a lot to recover from but seems to be improving a little each day. Thanks to everyone that has taken such an interest in our girls and their recovery. Please continue to keep them in your prayers."

The families say they have opened a benefit fund named "The Good & Fairchild Benefit Fund," which has been established to help with growing medical expenses, at PNC Bank. If you'd like to make a donation, you can find a PNC location near you at www.pnc.com.
