Family Raises $1600 through Hobby to Lend a Helping Hand

A little more than a week ago, the family of 3-year-old Kaden Nabors discovered the little boy had acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The diagnosis came as a shock to the family, but it didn't take long for extended family members to use their talents to help out.

"Hoggy Style" a barbecue team effort through Ray Nabors set up a barbecue benefit serving up hot dogs, pulled pork sandwiches, ribs, and chicken along with sides for $6 a plate to the public.

While the weather was dreary Saturday, it didn't stop the community from supporting the cause with residents contributing $1600 to the family.

The money will be used to help the family with medical and travel expenses.

Kaden is currently in Pensacola at Sacred Heart Hospital receiving chemotherapy treatments.
