Family and Friends Rally for Local Teen Battling Cancer
Lynn Haven- The local community came together for a rally Saturday in support of Bay High School student battling cancer.
Austin Summerbell, 14 years old, has sarcoma, a type of tissue cancer. Over the coming months, he'll face several doctor's visits and treatments, and as you can imagine the medical costs are going to be quite expensive.
Family and friends set up Saturday's event "Austin's Rally in the Park" at the Lynn Haven Sports Complex to help cover some of those expensives.
"It says a lot about the community and I know the family is very touched by it. I know that they are extremely lucky and fortunate that the people love their son and their family enough to come out," said Bay High School Head Baseball Coach Dan Davidson.
WJHG also participated in the rally going head to head in a game of softball against our cross town rivals.
