MARIANNA - A father and son are arrested for running a meth lab out of their home.
Jackson County deputies responded Saturday night to a report of a burglary in progress at the Arrowhead Campground in Marianna. When they arrived, they found Andrew Neel, and his father Richard, standing at a storage unit that had been broken into. Andrew admitted he burglarized the storage unit and stole about 70 pounds of brass ammunition shell casings that he sold to a scrap dealer.
Deputies then searched the Neels’ residence at the campground and found an active meth lab. They also recovered some of the items stolen from the storage unit, both in the house and inside Richard’s storage unit.
Andrew is a convicted felon and was out on parole. He’s charged with burglary of a structure, grand Theft, felon in possession of a firearm, manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, and violation of state probation.
Richard is charged with manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and grand theft.
