Firefighter Runs in Gear to Raise Money for Cancer
Panama City Beach, Fl-- As if competing in an Ironman was not taxing enough on someone's body, one brave women will finish the marathon dressed head-to-toe in her firefighter equipment.
Katrina Silvia of Jacksonville, Florida is running for an organization called Code 3 for the Cure which was started by Alfonzo Abundiz during his second of three battles with cancer.
The purpose of the organization is to raise money that will financially assists firefighters suffering from cancer.
Katrina realizes how tough this will be but knows she is doing it for a greater good.
After already being a part of the Code 3 for a Cure, one of her best friends and fellow firefighters was diagnosed with cancer.
The Ironman Race on Saturday will begin at 6:45 AM and continue throughout the day.
