PANAMA CITY BEACH- About 30 business owners, along the Thomas drive corridor showed up at Runaway Bay Caribbean grill for this inaugural meeting of coalition of Greater Grand Lagoon.

Owners, like Terry Nadeau, want to shift some of the focus from other parts of the beaches.

"It seems like lately the focus has been more the west end of the beach, which is great but we don't want to be forgotten over here,” said Terry Nadeau, Runaway Bay Caribbean Grill owner.

Group members believe working together can have a greater impact.

"So we want this coalition to pool resources for advertisement purposes and to grow business in the area, and make events come together create events. The fourth of July event that will keep people here all day,” said Vince Griner, Patches Pub and Grill owner.

"I do applaud the efforts of the business owners. I think they want to bring awareness to this end of the beach. I think the chamber can play a key role,” said lance Allison, president PCB Chamber of Commerce.

Allison hopes the coalition can continue the momentum of this first meeting.

"All of the businesses are very similar here on the beach. They all have the same mission and purpose, they all want to bring people into their doors,” said Allison.
