PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) -- A sheriff's deputy has been sentenced to 10 days in jail after he was captured on video throwing a handcuffed man to the floor at a Florida Panhandle jail.
The Escambia County Sheriff's Office says deputy Zachary McArthur was also ordered to serve a year of probation and get counseling for anger management.
McArthur was captured on video grabbing the inmate by the handcuffs and dragging him several feet. He left the man bleeding on the floor on Dec. 9, 2010.
McArthur was originally charged with third-degree felony battery, but jurors on Jan. 20 found him guilty of a misdemeanor battery.
Sheriff's office spokesman Mike Ward says the deputy remains on unpaid administrative leave pending an internal investigation.

Some people have no respect. They think they are above the law. Maybe you need to tell that deputy he's hired to uphold the law. "He" is not the law. Abusing people can land anybody in hot water and they can do jail time.
