PANAMA CITY BEACH-- Panama City Beach will not be requiring scooter rental companies to mount flags on their rentals.
Several months ago the beach passed new safety guidelines regulating the scooter business. The initial ordinance requires the companies to supply riders with bright yellow vests. Beach Police say that's worked so well, they don't need to require the rental companies to use flags.
Council members did point out another deadline for those businesses is quickly approaching. All of the scooter rental companies must have insurance coverage by August 28th.
