Flash Flood Watch For Sunday

A flash flood watch has been issued for the Florida panhandle West of the Apalachicola River.

The national weather service in has issued a Flash Flood watch for portions northwest Florida, including the following areas: Calhoun, Walton, Holmes, Bay, Gulf, Jackson and Washington Counties.

Periods of heavy rain are forecast to develop across the region today decreasing by this evening.

Additional localized amounts Of 3 to 5 inches are possible in the watch area and this on top of saturated soils will enhance the potential for flash flooding, especially in urban and low lying areas.
