Florida Loses 18,000 Jobs in May

Florida lost nearly 18,000 jobs in May and saw its unemployment rate tick up one tenth of one percent.

In May, the state's jobless rate came in at 6.3 percent. That's up from 6.2 percent in April. However, it's down 1.2 percent from May of 2013, when the jobless rate rate was 7.5 percent.

The U.S. jobless rate also checks in at 6.3 percent. That remained flat compared to April.

All ten counties in our veiwing area also saw an increase in the jobless rate. Bay County lost nearly 500 jobs from in May, up half a percent from April.
