Former Air Force Officer Gets 17 Years in Prison on Child Pornography Charges

The Air Force has kicked-out one of it's officers and is sending him to prison for 17 years.

A court-martial found 42-year-old Lt. Col. James w. Richards, IV guilty Thursday of possession of child pornography, indecent acts on a child under the age of 16 and violating "no contact" orders.

The Air Force launched its an investigation after a man in Texas claimed Richards molested him ten years ago.

During that investigation, Air Force officials found out Richards met a local 16-year-old online in 2010 and started a sexual relationship.

The court martial dismissed Richards from the Air Force, which is the equivalent of a dishonorable discharge, and sentenced him to 17 years confinement in a military facility.
