Former Liberty County Sheriff in Court

Former Liberty County Sheriff Nick Finch will appear in court for jury selection Monday.

The 50 year old Sheriff was arrested June 11th on one count of official misconduct.

Florida Department of Law Enforcement Officers say he destroyed or removed official arrest documents from the Liberty County Jail, making it appear as though an arrest never occurred.

Investigations revealed a deputy arrested a liberty county resident for carrying a concealed firearm without a permit, but shortly after the suspect was booked in jail.

Finch allegedly released the suspect and disposed of the documents.

Later that month, former employees began coming forward with sexual harassment claims that were filed even before Finch's arrest.

Buddy Money replaced Finch as Sheriff in July.

A group called the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association held a fundraising rally in august.

Jury selection for Finch's case will begin at 8:30 Monday morning.
