A Ft. Walton Beach man will be going to prison for shooting a home owner during an armed robbery.
A judge sentenced 27-year old Michael David Tuele Jr. Thursday to a 25-year minimum mandatory sentence after he plead guilty to home invasion robbery, aggravated battery with a firearm, and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
Tuele broke into a home on Alden Drive in Ft. Walton Beach on the evening of November 21st, 2012, demanding money and drugs.
The homeowner, Christopher Lynn Carroll, struggled with Tuele, trying to take his gun.
The gun went off, hitting Tuele in the chest.
Carroll was stabbed several times.
Paramedics airlifted him to a Pensacola hospital for treatment.
Both recovered from their wounds.
