A prisoner who escaped from a Panama City Police Department patrol car this past Saturday night had been recaptured Monday evening.

Ryan William Farmer, 27, now faces one count of felony Escape, Petit Theft as well as other charges related to warrants in Alabama and Arkansas.

The arrest comes after an investigation that began on December 21, 2013, when Farmer escaped from police custody.

Farmer was apprehended without incident at approximately 6:20 P.M. on Monday evening. Several other arrests and charges are expected in this case.

Panama City Police said the U.S. Marshal's Florida Regional Task Force assisted in the apprehension. The Task Force is comprised of members of the U.S. Marshals, Panama City Police Department, Bay County Sheriff's Office and the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
