Funeral Arrangements Set for Apalachicola Shooting Death Victim

APALACHICOLA - The family of a man who was shot and killed in Apalachicola Thursday night has finalized his funeral arrangements.

The family of 20 year old Charles Thomas Wayne "Bubba" Fasbenner will receive visitors Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. eastern time at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Apalachicola, with the funeral services taking place at noon. He'll be buried afterward at Magnolia Cemetery.

Sheriff's investigators say Fasbenner walked into the yard of a home on Timothy Simmons Street around 10:00 last Thursday night.

One of the residents, 24 year old Ronald Joseph Page, says he grabbed a rifle and confronted Fasbenner in the front yard.

Page claims Fasbenner began running toward him. He told investigators he fired a warning shot into the ground, but says Fasbenner kept coming.

So he shot Fasbenner on the front porch. Sheriff's investigators have not revealed a reason for Fasbenner being in Page's yard.

After consulting with State Attorney Willie Megg's office in Tallahassee, the Franklin County Sheriff's Office decided against filing any charges in the case at this time.
