Furry Friend 5K Attracts Dogs and Runners

PANAMA CITY BEACH - The Humane Society of Bay County held its 4th annual Furry Friend 5K run Saturday.

The event began at 7:45 A.M. Saturday at Frank Brown Park. Hundreds of runners came with their dogs to help support the humane society's new home.

The event was sponsored by several local businesses including Island 106, Breeze Animal Hospital, and Boardwalk Beach Resort.

"This event definitely benefits not only the animals or the people. All the money like I said goes to the humane society and we are the largest no kill shelter here. We need that in our community to have a no kill shelter. So when you come out here your supporting that chance to have a no kill shelter here," said Rose Clemo, Marketing Coordinator.

All proceeds collected Saturday benefit the Humane Society of Bay County.
