Gay the Hathaway

Some locals lined the Hathaway Bridge this afternoon to get a message across to their neighbors.

Gay pride flags waved right next to American flags as activists from many area coalitions and support groups came out to "Gay the Hathaway" this afternoon.

The group gathered about 3:30 this afternoon wearing gay pride T-shirts and waving signs to remind people driving by to show kindness to everyone, no matter who they are.

Activist Bob Gilmore said, "love your family and your friends, because it really is, it might be your uncle, your aunt, your brother, your sister, your next door neighbor, the guy you're working with and be kind, that's the big thing."

Members of the group say they're excited to show Bay County how proud they are to be themselves.
