Marianna- Friday, Emerald Coast Hospice honored those who had served our country with a special holiday luncheon.
Dozens gathered at the VA to enjoy chicken salad sandwiches,.
chips, cupcakes, and perhaps best of all- good company.
Wallace Wester served two tours in Vietnam.
He told us he had been an active member of the VFW for years. Wester said he had been looking forward to Friday's luncheon for weeks. And, he wasn't the only one.
He told us any opportunity for veterans to get together was not only appreciated, but very much needed.
"I think it's a great thing that we can get together like this and share one another thoughts" Wester said. "It does us good to do that and we make more friends each time we get together."
Emerald coast hospice has been participating in the We Honor Veterans program' through the national hospice organization and
US Department of Veteran Affairs.
