Glenwood Home Nearly Destroyed by Fire

PANAMA CITY, Fla. An early afternoon house fire heavily damaged a home at 502 East 9th Street in Panama City.

Fire-fighters received the alarm at 1:07 PM and the first fire unit arrived in one minute. Heavy smoke and flames were pouring from the building as firemen arrived. The blaze was declared under control an hour later.

Approximately 4,500 gallons of water was used.

The name of the owner or the occupant was not immediately available.

The blaze is under investigation by Panama City Police and Fire Departments and the State Fire Marshal’s office.

The damage to the building was estimated at 75% while the contents of the home were listed as 100% destroyed.
