While meeting with seven protesters at the state capitol Thursday night, Governor Rick Scott announced he would call for a Statewide Day of Prayer for Unity in Florida.
The day is being held to bring people together in times of crisis; including the death of Trayvon Martin. In the proclamation, the governor says he will keep the Martin and Zimmerman family in thoughts and prayers.
“I’m going to proclaim Sunday a statewide day for prayer for unity. If you listen to what you’re talking about we can pass a lot of laws but the truth is we’ve got to figure out as a society how to work with each other,” said Governor Scott.
The day for unity is Sunday.
