Graceville Man Gets Life In Prison

GRACEVILLE-- The man responsible for the double murder in Graceville last Thanksgiving will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Thirty-two year old Joseph Horace Gilley pled no contest yesterday to two counts of murder.

Circuit Judge William Wright immediately sentenced him to two consecutive life terms with no chance for parole.

Gilley had originally pled not guilty in the deaths of his father, 71 year old James Gilley and his girlfriend Alicia Sapp. Gilley shot and killed them both at the Gilley home on Peanut Road in Graceville Thanksgiving evening.

Authorities launched a manhunt that ended five hours later, when they arrested him at a relative's home.

Gilley was just released from prison two years ago after serving time on burglary and grand theft convictions.
