A Wewahitchka woman has been sentenced to 25 years in prison
for shooting her boyfriend in the mouth.
Esther Jean Wilson went to trial in March March 22 and and Assistant State Attorney Bob Pell was able to prove to the jury that Ms. Wilson
shot Walter L. Wright Jr. during an argument Feb. 5, 2012.
The guilty verdict came despite the face that Wright, the victim, refused to to testify against his girlfriend.
Jurors found Wilson guilty as charged of aggravated battery with a
firearm causing great bodily harm.
Circuit Judge Shonna Gay sentenced her under the state’s "10-20-Life law" and she is not eligible for early release from prison for good behavior.
