PANAMA CITY-- Second Congressional District Candidate Gwen Graham is in Panama City Wednesday, wrapping up her "Grilling With The Grahams" tour.
Gwen Graham toured 14 counties over the past 8 days with her father, Bob Graham.
The father-daughter team is helping restore the St. Andrews Bay.
Wednesday morning, Gwen Graham and her father, former Governor Bob Graham, rolled up their sleeves and got to work.
The pair spent eight hours planting seagrass to prevent saltwater erosion in the St. Andrews Bay.
It's all part of their campaign trademark: the workday.
Gwen Graham explained, "The workdays are just such an incredible opportunity to be together with people and learn about the issues that you're either working in and listen to people and listen to what's going on in their lives."
The 400 bulbs are from a nursery in Alabama.
Wednesday, the Grahams were planting them 10 inches below the sand so that hopefully, in a year, they'll grow thick.
Graham spent eight years in office, and made a name for himself by working full eight hour days at various jobs across Florida.
Now his daughter, Gwen Graham, is following in his footsteps.
She said, "I've worked on a goat farm, I've worked on a peanut farm, I've worked at a construction site, I've done a whole host of different types of jobs."
Bob Graham added, "I'm so happy that Gwen has found the same opportunity to learn about the people of Florida and to be better prepared to serve them."
Wednesday marked Gwen Graham's 14th workday. Former Governor Bob Graham will be wrapping up his 410th.
The campaign stop continued Wednesday afternoon at Daffin Park Clubhouse where they will be joined by Senator Bill Nelson for a "grillout".
Gwen Graham is running against incumbent Rep. Steve Southerland this November.
