WALTON COUNTY- Walton County Health Department officials have a few tips for those of you who spend a lot of time outdoors.
During extremely hot conditions, like we've been experiencing lately, you need to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids.
That goes for those who work outdoors, or those who are just enjoying what the panhandle has to offer.
Also, wear plenty of sunscreen. And if you burn easily, wear protective clothes like a hat or a long-sleeved shirt.
And remember to pace yourself. "Everything needs to be done in limitations, don't stay out in the sun too long. But they need to get indoors very quickly if they feel faint or if they are needing some more fluids," said Holly Holt, Walton Co. Health Dept.
