Hundreds Arrested in first 2 weeks of Spring Break

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla The Bay County Sheriff’s Office issued a summary today of Spring Break 2014 activity from March 07, 2014 through March 20, 2014.

The BCSO responded to 2,096 calls for service in the unincorporated areas on Panama City Beach and, when requested to assist the Panama City Beach Police Department, within the city limits of Panama City Beach.

Some of the more common calls BCSO deputies and investigators responded to were:

Drunk Pedestrian 147
Reckless Driver 43
Suspicious Vehicle 58
Suspicious Person 89
Disturbance (physical and verbal) 89
Drug Offense 15
Theft 48
Criminal Mischief 35
Trespass/Unwanted Guest 113
Sick/Injured 68
Traffic Stop 397
Beach Ordinance Swimmer Warning 2
Domestic Violence (physical & verbal) 28
Assault/Battery 13
Sex Offense 3
Swimmer in Distress 8
Robbery (Strong Arm/Armed) 2

The Bay County Jail has processed 421 people through the Mobile Booking Center on Panama City Beach during Spring Break. These are arrests by all agencies working the Panama City Beach area. The Mobile Booking Center is open from 5 PM to 5 AM daily during Spring Break, so these numbers do not reflect Spring Break related arrests made between 5 AM and 5 PM.

From March 7, 2014 to March 20, 2014, the total number of 911 calls to the BCSO dispatch from the entire county was 4,647. The total number of administrative calls processed was 7,920. For comparison purposes, the total number of 911 calls from February 7, 2014, to February 20, 2014, was 3,034. Total number of administrative calls was 5,572.
