PANAMA CITY -- More than 100 people celebrated the 3rd annual Birthday Run for the Florida Panhandle Girl Scouts Saturday morning.
Runners of all ages took to the 5K starting line behind the Trinity Lutheran Church to support the organization. The winners of the race finished in about 20 minutes.
They paid a small fee to take part in the run, but coordinators expect to make only a few hundred dollars. They say the run is about much more than fundraising.
Another set of runners participated in a one mile run/walk and of course organizers sold Girl Scout cookies as part of the event.
