Despite the cold weather, it was still a warm welcome home for families at Hurlburt Field Monday afternoon.
Hurlburt Field rolled out the red carpet for the hundreds of military men and women who arrived home around 1:30 Monday afternoon in a Delta commercial plane to eager friends and family members.
One of those waiting in the crowd was Riley O'Brien, who was excited to see his father.
"We're excited. It's not the longest he's been away, but we're still glad to have him back" says Riley.
His mother Deanne is also glad to have her family together again. "We still have all our Christmas decorations up and we're going to open presents and do all that probably in a couple days after he's recovered from the trip back", she says.
Nearly all of the men and women who returned home missed the holidays with their families.
