Jackson Co. Authorities Looking for Two Suspects Charged with Animal Cruelty

Jackson County Authorities have issued arrest warrants for two people accused of abandoning dozens of dogs, leaving them to died.

Investigators are looking for Heidi Amanda Westman and Lelend Emery Kluth.

They're charged with 42 counts of animal cruelty.

Deputies discovered the dogs last Thursday in the couple's mobile home in Marianna.

31 of the animals were still alive and starving, 4 had already died.

Animal Control of West Florida rescued the animals and have been nursing them back to health.

The hope is they will b able to adopt out most of them.

As for Westman and Kluth, authorities say once they're arrested they'll be prosecuted on the animal cruelty charges.

They could face up to 5 years in prison for each of the four counts.
