Marianna- School board members weighed the pros and cons of extending the uniforms to include kindergarten through fifth graders and adding blue jeans as acceptable pants.

During last week's meeting, officials were concerned local stores would not be able to supply the inventory needed to implement a uniform by the up coming school year.

Frank Waller, the director of Secondary Education for Jackson County schools said he contacted Vanity Fair in Graceville and Walmart in Marianna on the issue.

"Both places have assured me that they would have stock in place, they just need to know the parameters that we're dealing with, such as the colors and grade limit and age limits of the students."

The proposal was still not scheduled on the agenda for a vote.
