JACKSON COUNTY-- Jackson District School officials honored 74 students Tuesday for "acing" the FCAT.
The students received a perfect raw score when they took the FCAT last year. They correctly answered every question in the reading, math, science, and writing portions of the test, as well as the end of course assessments.
Superintendent Steve Benton and Deputy Superintendent Cheryl
McDaniel presented each student a certificate at Marianna High School. Parents believed the recognition will help students excel.
"I think its gonna boost his want to do more and his confidence in his school work, and I honestly believe if he keeps it up that he can do all things," said Barbara Jackson, who’s son was recognized. Students will take the Florida Standard Assessment instead of the FCAT next spring.
