DOTHAN, Ala. (AP) -- Jurors voted unanimously this week to recommend the death penalty for a Dothan man convicted of killing three people at a crack house in 1996.
40-year-old Jerry Jerome Smith had previously been convicted of capital murder in the killings and sentenced to death, but his death sentence was overturned twice. His case was in court this week for resentencing, and the jury on Thursday recommended the death penalty.
He's convicted of killing 40-year-old Willie James Flournoy of Dothan; 26-year-old Theresa Ann Helms of Wicksburg and 29-year-old David Lee Bennett of Midland City.
The three victims were killed Oct. 19, 1996 in what police described it as a crack house.

If those 3 people would have just gave it a long thought with a clear mind, they would not have been at that crack house. Drugs have caused so much pain and heartache for all the family of loved ones that have died because of them.People that get all the ingredients up to make some sort of devils potion are destroying our children. We need our children, they are what puts smiles on our faces. We treasure our children, please think about the people who love you don't go to a crack house theres only death and misery there.
