KJ's Arrest

PANAMA CITY- Panama City Police say they've arrested 2-people in-connection with Monday's fatal shooting outside of a nightclub on Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.

24- year old Khiry Ross is being charged with an open count of murder, felon in possession of a firearm, and felon in possession of ammunition.

25-year old Marcus Mathis is being charged with accessory to murder after the fact.

Investigators say Ross shot 20-year old J-Shun Smith in the head about 3:20 Monday morning, outside of KJ's Nightclub.

They say Mathis drove Ross away from the scene.

Witnesses told police that Ross and Smith, who was from Atlanta, had gotten into an argument inside of the nightclub earlier that night, and that's what led to the shooting.

Police haven't released the nature of the argument.

Paramedics took Smith to Bay Medical Sacred Heart, where he died later.

Both Ross and Mathis have criminal records.

These mugs shots are from previous arrests.

They've been booked into the Bay County Jail, and are due in court tomorrow for bond hearings.
