Friday morning marked the beginning of Klothes 4 Kids, the Panama City Rescue Mission initiative to help supply families with supplies for students going back to school.
Local families were welcomed into Bay County Fairgrounds to find clothes, shoes, and supplies for their students going back to school. The program is currently in it's 8th year and in it's first day served more than 1,000 students in its first day.
Clothes were donated throughout the summer, but according to Reverend Billy Fox, there is still a need for more. "We just have not gotten in the supply compared to the number of new people that never used us before."
According to officials the primary concern has been getting white polo uniform tops. Those interested in donating can stop in at the Bay County Fairgrounds with their items.
