The largest condo in Panama City Beach is catching flak from some residents.

They say the elevators haven't worked in several weeks.

Laketown Wharf on front beach road is 21 stories tall and has 7 elevators.

This weekend only one of them was working.

Panama City Beach fire inspector David Jordan confirmed the problem, but also says Laketown Wharf isn't the only beach business experiencing elevator problems.

"With the fog that rolled in it caused a lot of moisture in the shafts which caused the elevators to shut down for safety reasons. I've been here 24 years and we've never had all the elevators all go down at one time," Lt. Jordan said.

However, residents say that's no consolation for them.

"With all of us here that are currently disabled it is causing more problems," said Bobby Janson, Laketown Wharf resident.

"I know there is a few residents here that are handicapped that need that accessibility. I'm not sure what I would do if that was me. Luckily, I live on the second floor," said Misty Garrett, resident.

Laketown Wharf management did not return our calls for comment.

Fire officials say all the elevators should be running by the weekend.
