Panama City-This week, people across the nation are remembering the men and women that lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
Locally, fire fighters and emergency responders put on an amazing tribute to those that lose their lives during the attack.
On Saturday, more than 260 people showed up at the Laketown Wharf Condominiums to climb 110 flights of stairs to duplicate the 110 stories of the World Trade Center towers that emergency responders had to climb that day.
The climb started at exactly 3:43 PM to remember the 343 fire fighters the New York City Fire Department lost that day.
“I think it’s important because people have forgotten what everyone went through that day just like they’re forgetting that December 7th is Pearl Harbor Day,” said Panama City’s Fire Chief Wayne Watts.
All of the money raised from the event will go to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
