Local Man Flies Flag Upside Down To Send Message to Washington

DEFUNIAK SPRINGS - There does appear to be a little progress in negotiations over the partial government shutdown.

While it drags, on more and more veterans and military families are not getting the help they need.

One Defuniak Springs man is not happy about that and is showing it in a way that's turning some heads.

Air force veteran, 81-year-old Ed Armbruster has been flying an American flag upside down for two days.

He believes the shutdown in Washington is hurting those who've sacrificed so much for their country.

Armbruster said, "It's a sad day in america the government is not paying up on insurance policies and I can not believe what I am hearing and seeing and that's what has me so upset and Washington D.C. needs to get off their duff."

More than 3.5 million veterans will not receive disability compensation next month if partial government shutdown continues.
