21 year old Kaley Marie Garmon has been arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse.
On Friday, investigators with the BCSO Criminal Investigations Division responded to a local hospital in reference to an injured seven week old infant.
The infant had been in the care of Garmon. Garmon initially stated she did not know how the child came to be injured, then advised investigators the child had been injured when a large dog in the home jumped into the “Pack-and-Play” where the child slept.
A witness in the home stated she observed the door to the room the infant slept in closed the night the injury occurred and that the dog in the home was outside the room. When confronted with this information, Garmon admitted to becoming frustrated with the infant during the night and forcefully jerking the baby’s clothes off and that she didn’t put the baby in easily when she placed the infant into the “Pack and Play”.
Garmon was then arrested and transported to the Bay County Jail.
