Delbert Glen Campbell pleaded no contest Thursday to two counts of second-degree murder with a firearm and was sentenced to life in prison.
Assistant State Attorney Larry Basford said in court that Campbell, 49, of 8122 Waverly St., Youngstown, shot to death his wife Thelma Louise Campbell and his friend Richard Anthony Gioseffi, 56, on Oct. 16.
Campbell then surrendered himself to a deputy and gave a
detailed confession.
Basford told Circuit Judge Michael Overstreet that he’d talked with the families of Thelma Campbell and Gioseffi and they were in agreement with the life sentence.
Overstreet sentenced Campbell to two concurrent life terms.

CPT Campbell was my Company Commander in Vietnam. He cared a lot for the men under his command. I hate to see this happen to him now.
