Locals Gearing up for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

PANAMA CITY BEACH - Local breast cancer awareness organizations are gearing up for October.

Bay County's American Cancer Society held its annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event Thursday night at Dave and Busters in Panama City Beach. It featured the famous battle of the bra catwalk where men and women strutted their stuff in support of cancer awareness.

Organizers said it's never too early to start preparing for breast cancer awareness month. "We like to start off early and get everyone revved up, get their energy going and have a good time and keep that momentum throughout," Making Strides Against Breast Cancer organizer Kyla Pugh said.

October 25 is the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. The 5k takes place at Pier Park.
