WALTON COUNTY - A 37 year old Freeport man is behind bars Monday charged with false report of a bomb in Walton County.
Lonnie Dion Peterson is accused of calling a residence several times telling the person who answered to check their mailbox.
Investigators say that person found a letter stating there was a bomb at the courthouse in Defuniak Springs.
The letter also said the bomb would go off between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday.
The Bay County Bomb squad did not find a bomb.
Deputies say Peterson admitted to writing the letter because he was under a "lot of stress."
Peterson was already scheduled to appear in court Monday on an unrelated charge.
