A Jackson County man is awaiting his first appearance after swinging a rifle barrell at deputies and getting tased.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic disturbance earlier this afternoon.
The county's fire rescue was sent on a medical call, but when they arrived, Robert Fred Phillips denied his girlfriend medical treatment.
He forced paramedics out of the house but the victim was able to escape and seek help.
When deputies arrived, Phillips refused to cooperate.
He armed himself with a rifle barrell and began to threaten deputies.
Phillips was pepper-sprayed and tased and is spending tonight in the Jackson County Correctional Facility.
The Jackson County Sheriff's Office has not yet released his mug shot.
