Man Arrested for Making School Bomb Threat

PAXTON - Thirty year old Adam Allen of Laurel Hill is in the Walton County jail Monday night.

He's accused of making a bomb threat.

Authorities evacuated Paxton School Monday after receiving the threat.

K-9 units from the Bay County Sheriff's Office explosive ordinance disposal team searched the Paxton School for several hours Monday, looking for signs of a bomb.

School officials say the threat came in around 8:45 Monday morning, in the form of an e-mail.

"I saw something that caught my eye and opened it up, read it then Mr. Jackson and I looked at it again. We called in the SRO, then I called the District and it just went from there," said Beth Tucker, Paxton School Principal.

Tucker evacuated students and staff across the street until their parents came to pick them up.

Walton County Sheriff's deputies showed up and launched their investigation, which included a sweep of the e-mail.

A few hours later, they arrested and charged, 30 year old Adam Allen.

Authorities and staff are just happy no one was injured.

In the email, Allen stated the bomb was a pipe bomb.

Investigators were able to track the email's IP address to Allen's home.
