Man Convicted Of Battery

A Bay County man is behind bars after allegedly hitting another person in the face so hard the victim needed his jaw wired shut and 63 screws put into his face.

According to the State Attorney's Office, Michael Anthony Montano hit Garrett Myers in the face on May 27th of last year.

He's been found guilty as charged for felony battery and great bodily injury and permanent disfigurement after a Bay County jury deliberated for 35 minutes Friday afternoon.

The State Attorney's Office says Montano was also released from prison in 2008 after serving nearly four years on other charges.

He now faces up to five years in prison when Circuit Judge Michael Overstreet sentences him in February.
