Man Hospitalized After Crashing Into Tree

One person is in the hospital with serious injuries after crashing into a tree in Panama City Saturday evening.

It happened near 8th Street just before 6:30.

According to Panama City police investigators, the man was driving a white car northbound on Williams Avenue at a high rate of speed.

Officials say the driver ran through a stop sign, went across the road, and hit a tree.

The driver sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
