Man Life-Flighted after Family Member Opens Fire in Domestic Dispute

Walton County Sheriff's investigators are still sorting out the details of a shooting in Santa Rosa Beach.

It happened about 8:00am at a home on Grantham Lane. They say it started Thursday night when a man started arguing with his nephew. They picked-up the dispute again this morning, leading to the nephew shooting his uncle several times. The nephew left the home, called 911 and told dispatchers he wanted to turn himself in to authorities.

Paramedics life-flighted the uncle to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, where doctors performed surgery. They say he is expected to live.

Investigators have not released the names of the uncle or nephew. We'll have more on the story as soon as it's available.
