NEAR MALONE - A scary scene Wednesday evening in Jackson County. A man, sitting at his dinner table, is hit by a bullet.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says the victim was eating dinner Wednesday at his home on Bevis Road, south of Malone. Around 6:30 p.m., a bullet pierced the wall of his single-wide mobile home, traveled through a book case, and hit his right foot. Doctors at Jackson Hospital treated the man, but they couldn’t remove the bullet. He’ll have to come back for surgery.
Others who live in the neighborhood heard numerous gunshots around the same time. But no one saw the shooter. Neither did the K-9 Teams brought in from Jackson Correctional Institution and Apalachee Correctional Institution.
