CHIPLEY – A domestic violence incident ends with two people stabbed, including the suspect’s ex-girlfriend.
Chipley police were called to a home on Bowen Street at 8:11 Tuesday night in reference to a stabbing. Officers found 40-year-old Stephanie Jackson lying on the living room floor in a large pool of blood. They also found a man, 25-year-old Dywight Murphy of Marianna, suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Murphy says on his Facebook page that he was stabbed 6-8 times.
Both were transported to the North West Florida Community Hospital and later air lifted to Bay Medical Center/Sacred Heart.
Jackson’s ex-boyfriend, 45-year-old Shaun Reed of Chipley, was immediately identified as a suspect in the double stabbing. Based on victim statements and witness accounts, police believe Reed barged into the home and stabbed both victims multiple times.
Reed was also injured in the attack. In fact, police say he left a trail of blood that led to a vacant house across the street from where he lives. The Washington County Swat Team arrested Reed just before 3:30 a.m.
Reed is charged with two counts of attempted murder. Both victims are in critical condition.
