A man was arrested Wednesday for driving his vehicle through a marked turtle nest at Cape San Blas in Gulf County
Timothy Louis Courville, 52, was arrested by deputies after acknowledging he had driven through the nest.
Molesting a sea turtle nest is a third degree felony. Courville was also cited for driving on the beach without a permit.
Gulf County Sheriff deputies responded to the Stump Hole area in reference to someone running over a turtle nest.
When the deputy arrived in the beach he observed a sea turtle nest that had tire track going across it with the stakes and marking tape knocked over.
The deputy observed a vehicle stuck in the sand about a quarter mile from the nest and made contact with Courville, who admitted driving over the nest.
